Elisa Corporation, press release, 24 October 2017
In the CDP 2017 report published today, Elisa appears on the Climate A list with 106 other companies. Thousands of companies from all around the world participate in the annual CDP climate reporting. The Climate A listing is made based on a request from a network of investors that manage assets of more than USD 100 trillion. Elisa was the only Nordic teleoperator among the companies with the best climate reporting.
“Inclusion in the international CDP A list is a fine result of our long-term work on climate reporting and the concrete actions we have taken to reduce emissions. Elisa’s inclusion in the Climate A list confirms the trust of investors and other important stakeholders about Elisa’s readiness to respond to both global climate challenges and changes in our business, as well as indicates our capability to support a low-carbon society,” summarises Minna Kröger, corporate responsibility director at Elisa.
”Congratulations to all the that made it onto the Climate A List this year. It’s inspiring to see so many taking bold action to mitigate the risks of climate change and grasp the opportunities that come with the transition to a sustainable economy. As we approach a tipping point on environmental action, business is absolutely central to making that transition happen”, says CDP’s Executive Chair Paul Dickinson.
The reduction of carbon dioxide emissions has been part of Elisa’s strategy since 2009. The objectives are monitored with a result card.
“Elisa’s climate strategy is based on renewable energy, energy-efficiency measures and our modern virtual operating methods. In addition to adjusting our own actions, we aim to support the emission-reduction goals of our customers with our services,” Kröger says.
