Students at Astana IT University in Nur-Sultan, the capital of Kazakhstan, will be studying IT surrounded by Finnish furniture as Isku has been selected to furnish the university’s premises. The large delivery comprises 22 truckloads of furniture, which will be used by approximately 2,000 IT students.
“This is Isku’s largest-ever order from Kazakhstan. Isku’s Russian subsidiary has had an office in Kazakhstan since World Expo 2017. Now, the determined work is starting to pay off,” says Arto Tiitinen, Isku’s CEO.
“Astana IT University is a great opening into Kazakhstan’s university world. Previously, we have supplied furniture to Kazakh day-care centres and comprehensive schools, among other places,” explains Natalia Salonen, CEO of Isku’s Russian subsidiary.
In addition to furniture, Isku has also done the interior design of the premises. Astana IT University has lots of classrooms and traditional auditoriums, but also many open spaces that can be used for project work, for example. The brand-new university building has many multi-use spaces, 140 classrooms, sports facilities, a co-working space that also caters to start-ups, a library, and laboratories, among other things.
