Jospak Oy has received BRC Certification. The BRC (British Retail Consortium) Global Standard for Packaging and Packaging Materials is the first Packaging Standard in the world to be recognised by the Global Food Safety Initiative (GSFI) benchmarking committee.
BRC Standard was established 1998 to secure suppliers’ responsibility and it has helped suppliers to improve their operation regularly. Development and Quality Manager Katja Viitala from Jospak assures that Jospak is engaged with continuous development, product safety and quality. Over 4200 suppliers all over the world have decided to apply and have received the certification. Until now it has been granted for 14 manufacturers in Finland.
BRC guarantee the standardisation and the certification globally of quality, safety and operational criteria and ensure that manufacturers fulfil their legal obligations and provide protection for the consumer. BRC Global Standards are now a fundamental requirement of leading retailers, manufacturers and food service organisations. BRC tells also about Jospak´s ability to guarantee the quality and safety of Jospak´s cardboard trays for consumers and food industry.

Jospak Oy was founded year 2014. It´s innovation is a cardboard tray that is suitable for a large variety of fresh food products such as meat, fish, vegetables, but also processed and ready-to-eat products. The Jospak tray consists of a fiber-based tray and a separate multi-layer barrier film. The tray is hermetically sealed with lidding film, which makes the tray suitable for modified atmosphere packaging (MAP). After use, the consumer can peel away the inner film liner and dispose the materials in the dedicated waste streams or recycle as such.
Jospak’s fiber-based food tray provides a large printable surface which enables better means for brand and product messaging, standing out from the competition, and shelf visibility. It also helps in avoiding the use of the additional paperboard or plastic sleeves and therefore reduces packaging materials and related costs overall.
