LaplandNews, who have achieved great international popularity, is a media house specialised in marketing Lappish travelling and is making Finnish Lapland well-known through their videos. The videos are distributed through social media and in a year they have gathered an audience of a million viewers. The most popular video has been watched over 460 000 times, states the CEO of LaplandNews Oy, Tanja Hyväri.
”In our most popular video I made snow fall on myself from a tree. It must be easy to identify with the person in the video”, Hyväri ponders the reason behind the popularity of the video.
The new series will bring awareness to Lappish summer worldwide
The newest and largest video project of LaplandNews aims to increase the popularity of Lappish summer travelling.
”Growth in Finnish Lappish travelling concentrates on the winter, and through our clients we have been asked to enhance the advertising of summer related activities. This series of videos about travelling in Lapland during the summertime is our way to respond to those requests”, Hyväri notifies.
The series will be in six parts and presented in such a way that every subregion of Lapland can showcase their number of summertime activities. In each episode we’ll get to know the local businesses, travelling destinations and events through the perspective and experiences of a single person. Along with this, the narrator’s voice will help us to understand the internationality of the events.
”We’re not inventing the wheel again, but instead we want to bring across the beauty of Lappish nature, the cleanest air in the world, the clear bodies of water, the midnight sun, the spectrum of events offered by the Lappish summer, the tranquillity and peace, as well as the fact that you can experience Santa Claus and the northern lights during the summertime as well”, Hyväri reveals.
A great audience with great financing
The series’ half a hour long episodes will be distributed internationally through social media to people interested in Lapland and all things related to Lappish travelling. LaplandNews promises, that each episode will obtain at least five million views and in total the series will gain over 50 million views.
”We have experience in the broad distribution of videos and we are one of the most popular travelling medias in Finland. On Facebook alone we have nearly 150 000 followers” Hyväri summarises.
LaplandNews will start the funding for the production of the series in January 2019. It will be seeked generally along with specifically from each subregion.
”The funding will be sourced from organisations and institutions related to travelling, marketing and culture, as well as from businesses linked with travelling. During 2019 we will also approach the municipalities of Lapland, so they may possibly reserve a small sum of money from the budget of 2020 to be used in the distribution of this series”, Hyväri tells.
A refreshing shot for Lappish summer travelling
Tanja Hyväri, the CEO of LaplandNews Oy, belives that the series will bring a myriad of good things for Lapland.
”In addition to seeing the travelling numbers go up, it is also great that through this project we can employ about ten people for the upcoming summer and perhaps from that point forward too, if more projects like this are done in the future”, Hyväri finishes off with.
