As Parliamentary elections approach SDP has added the Campaign Game as a new feature to its Kansalaispaneeli (Citizens’ Panel) mobile app. During this election season SDP wants to engage 490,000 voters face-to-face. The SDP Campaign Game is a new way for the candidates, party campaigners and the voters to engage each other and energize the campaigning process.
Voter engagement is a key element of SDP’s election strategy, the Campaign Game is dynamic way for the party to use its resources effectively. In the game, SDP campaigners are the primary players. They record individual voter engagements in their constituencies and other players can see where election work has already been done. Parliamentary candidates, with their support groups, and other party activists will participate in the campaign game to achieve the goals of their constituency.
Via the SDP's Citizens' Panel platform, the general population is able to share their opinions on socially relevant and topical issues. The Citizens' Panel platform works with smartphones (both Android and iOS) and web-browser. The Mobile version of the Citizen's Panel was released in July 2018 and has about 5,000 users, and 60,000 responses and feedback have already been collected from users. The SDP utilizes the feedback and opinions gained through the panel in forming its positions. Anyone can join the Citizens' Panel regardless of political affiliation.
Citizen panel users can participate in the campaign by signing up at the SDP's party office. The campaign game is automatically activated for all party election candidates and their election chiefs.
The Campaign Game is developed by Finnish startup, Future Dialog Oy. Future Dialog implements digital engagement solutions for communities such as municipalities and cities, parties, educational institutions and organizations.
