Originating from the artwork of Stanley Cup finalist Ville Leino, a Finnish startup Billebeino is on the rise and now heading to take over European markets. The clothing brand is attending the CIFF tradeshow in Copenhagen 29.1.–31.1.2020.
This spring the Finnish clothing phenomenon is expanding over the boarders of its homeland.
The clothing brand known for its brick logo is trusted by many famous athletes, and the company has already established a wide customer base in the Finnish market.
The man behind the brand is a former NHL player and Stanley Cup finalist Ville Leino, who started the company together with his friend Juhani Putkonen in 2014.
This spring Billebeino is looking to grow in Europe. For the first time the brand will be showcased in trade shows and exhibitions in Germany and Denmark.
”This far we’ve had some amazing collaborations in Finland, like the collections with New Balance and Umbro. Hopefully from the trade shows we’ll find new retailers and representatives to bring Billebeino to the wider European markets“, says Leino, full of excitement. From professional sports to the clothing business
Billebeino is a Finnish clothing brand inspired by sports and arts. The story began when during his professional hockey career Leino got into painting. He signed all his pieces with a brick logo, which later became the official logo of the Billebeino brand.
The brand has been growing at a rapid speed since the start, their unique marketing strategy being one of the key factors to the success. Billebeino has used social media and Leino’s contacts with famous athletes effectively.
The products of Billebeino have been seen on Kimi Räikkönen, P.K. Subban and Teemu Selänne, just to name a few. The premium level clothes and accessories create a unisex line of products that is and meant for everyone, regardless their age or gender.

Financially Billebeino has been growing steadily year by year. In the first accounting period 2015 the company's turnover was 267 000 euros, when in 2018 the turnover had already grown to 2 250 000 euros, with the profit of 446 000 euros.
