Fennovoima has conducted the approval process including the audit for Concern Titan-2, the Main Building Contractor of Hanhikivi 1 project, and approved Titan-2 without non-conformities. The approval of sub-contractors and the continuous monitoring of their competence and performance is Fennovoima's responsibility for the duration of the entire project.
Rusatom Overseas has selected Titan-2 as the Main Building Contractor. Titan-2 is in charge of among other things the site preparation and infrastructure works, construction of the nuclear and turbine island, installation works, materials and equipment as well I&C equipment for the Hanhikivi 1 nuclear power plant project.
- The audit confirmed Titan-2 to be fully qualified and competent to operate as the Main Building Contractor of the Hanhikivi 1 project. Titan-2 has the best possible experience to operate as the main building contractor of the plant type Fennovoima has chosen, states Fennovoima's Project Director Minna Forsström. The company is in charge of the construction of the reference plant of Hanhikivi 1 in Sosnovyi Bor, Russia.
Fennovoima's aim is to conclude the approval process also for the other three key sub-suppliers Gidropress, Atomenergomash and Atomproekt during May. These companies are subsidiaries of Rosatom.
All four key sub-suppliers will select their own sub-contractors in the future. In total, hundreds of companies will be working at Fennovoima's nuclear power plant construction site.
