The winner of the annual ice-hole pitching competition Polar Bear Pitching is Virta Ltd., a company that offers loading services for electric cars in the most comprehensive web in Finland.
The finals were held in Oulu Market Square, Finland. Finalists gave their pitches while standing waist-deep in ice hole carved in the frozen Baltic Sea. Finals were judged by international investors, such as Eeswaran Navaratnam from 01 Ventures, Henry Ines from Draper Dragon and a startup guru Shraga Katz. The event tempted a good amount of general audience on site to witness the pitches.
The winner received a 10K cash prize as well as a two-weeks stay in Hacker Hotel Mustakarhu and an office space for two weeks in Plug-and-Play Tech Center, both located in Silicon Valley, USA.
Polar Bear Pitching is an annual pitching competition held in Oulu, Finland. It differs from all the other pitching competitions in two ways: there's no time limit but you have to give your pitch while standing waist deep in an ice hole carved in the frozen Baltic Sea.
