The Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry is pleased to invite representatives of the media to the European Bioeconomy Scene 2019 media events to learn about and discuss Europe’s path to becoming a carbon-neutral society. The media events will be held at the Scandic Park hotel on 9 July 2019.
Organised jointly by the Finnish Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry and the European Commission, the conference will be one of the highlights of the Finnish Presidency of the Council of the European Union. It will provide a unique opportunity to set the course for the European bioeconomy in the coming years.

How can the bioeconomy be a solution to the challenges of sustainable development? What does the European bioeconomy look like? The event will be led by Liisa Saarenmaa, Deputy Director-General at the Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry.

Minister of Agriculture and Forestry Jari Leppä; Vice-Chair of the European Commission Jyrki Katainen; Director of Bioeconomy, DG RTD, European Commission Dr John Bell, and Director, Directorate for Sustainable Resources, European Commission's Joint Research Centre Giovanni De Santi. Speakers at the event will comment on the outcome of the day and answer questions from journalists.
