FIS Ski Jumping Continental Cup and FIS Cup will take place the Puijo-HS127 hill end of the week. During the four days there will be organized four an exciting international races. On Thursday and Friday there are FIS Cup competitions, and on weekend Continental Cup competitions.
Finnish ski jumpers will be competing in front of the home crowd with a large group. There are for example four national team jumpers, Jarkko Maatta, Ville Larinto, Lauri Asikainen and Harri Olli, challenger team's competitors Frans Tahkavuori and youth national team stars Andreas Alamommo, Niko Kytosaho and Eetu Nousiainen. A total in Kuopio is 20 Finns competitors.
On Sunday at Puijo there will take place also national competitions for the juniors in K16-, K28- and K64-hills.
"The spirit is good, and what makes the athmosphere great is that we will host the record high number of participant nations in both (Continental Cup and FIS Cup). The previous record was 16 countries, now there are 19," Secretary General Jukka Salmi smiles.
At the moment, at the top of the overall Continental Cup standings is a Peter Prevc of Slovenia, FIS Cup number one in overall is currently Davide Bresadola of Italia. In FC the best Finnish competitor is Niko Kytosaho, who is at the tenth place with 79 points.
During the weekend there will be 102 competitors in Puijo. Races will starts on Thursday and Friday at 18.15, on Saturday at 16.00 and on Sunday at 10.00.
