OSLO, NORWAY (January 2020) — As a Norwegian-based brand, Helly Hansen knows how to deliver on professional grade gear that can keep you warm and keep water out. Working with professionals on the water and on the mountain, Helly Hansen continues to push design innovation further to ensure protection whether out on an adventure or in daily life. For Fall/Winter 2020, the new ARCTIC PATROL MODULAR PARKA was developed together with scientists, who live and work day after day in the harshest arctic climates. With their knowledge and feedback, Helly Hansen designed a 3-in-1 modular parka to provide versatility and customization without compromising on performance.
The ARCTIC PATROL MODULAR PARKA is built with three layers, including a warm and soft insulator jacket made with Primaloft® Gold body mapping insulation and a HELLY TECH® Professional waterproof and breathable stretch shell. The last layer is a durable, heavy-duty, waterproof outerlayer with 200g Primaloft® Gold premium synthetic insulation, preferred by scientists because it stays drier and lighter than down alternatives. The three-layer system allows the wearer to mix-and-match in at least six different combinations for optimal warmth and functionality in any situation.
As the ultimate do-it-all parka for people who live and work in cold-weather climates, the ARCTIC PATROL MODULAR PARKA comes with adjustable cuffs, hem and hood and ventilation zippers under the arms to let air in and keep cold out. Based on feedback from scientists working daily in the toughest conditions, the parka is also made with strategically placed pockets and loops so often-used tools and supplies can be easily accessed at any time. Additional features include a Life Pocket™, which preserves the battery life of mobile phones and electronics to stay connected on the job, and a waterproof bag which the parka can be packed into for easy travel and convenience.
“Our professionals, athletes and customers should be able to depend on their gear to accommodate any level of activity,” said Kristoffer Ulriksen, Category Managing Director for Urban at Helly Hansen. “This type of modular apparel is like your go-to multi-tool that can be used in any situation. For anyone who spends their days outside, for life or for work, the ARCTIC PATROL MODULAR PARKA will allow you to be flexible, prepared and protected from the elements.”
In anticipation of its Fall 2020 release, the ARCTIC PATROL MODULAR PARKA has been recognized as an ISPO Award Gold Winner in the Outdoor segment. Rewarded for its innovation, function and design, the parka was voted as the best product in the Expedition Wear category by a panel of 42 judges from 13 countries spanning three continents.
The ARCTIC PATROL MODULAR PARKA is offered in both men’s and women’s specific styles with special fit and insulation mapping designed to provide tailored warmth for different silhouettes. For added wamth and dryness, the parka also features 2-layer fabric in areas often exposed to weather, including the hood, pockets and back, while using 1-layer fabric in the midriff for non-restricted movement. Pair the ARCTIC PATROL MODULAR PARKA with ARCTIC PATROL PANTS for complete protection, which are also avaialable in both men’s and women’s specific designs.
