Round Zero Ltd. established last year in Oulu, Finland, has previously published two mobile games spiced with tanks and chickens. Their third game adds puzzles and friendly monsters to the menu. Monster Mansion Blast is developed by Playgram Games from Valencia, Spain, and launched globally by Round Zero on the 23rd of August. Round Zero’s previous published games have amassed over 16 million downloads and the company’s aim is to reach over 30 million downloads by the end of 2018.
Since October last year, the mobile game publisher Round Zero has published three mobile games developed by three different game studios in three different countries. Working smoothly across borders between the publisher and the game developers on multiple projects at once is a challenge that Round Zero has seen as an opportunity to build a diverse games portfolio in a short period of time. The newly-founded company serves as the publishing label of Fingersoft Ltd., the developer and publisher of the Hill Climb Racing mobile game franchise with over 1 billion downloads. Round Zero’s mission is to find promising mobile games with universal appeal and offer their developers free help by introducing the games to Fingersoft’s monthly active user base of over 50 million players. This way, game developers can concentrate freely on improving their game while Round Zero takes the financial risk of marketing the game.
Round Zero’s previous published games, casual tank action game Hills of Steel and What the Hen! with its comical fantasy card game theme, have already reached over 16 million downloads. The new game, Monster Mansion Blast, is an entirely different breed of game that includes solving colorful puzzles and decorating a mansion together with friendly monster characters. Last February, the game’s Spanish developers reached out to Round Zero and the two teams soon began working together to improve the game and get it ready for the global launch.
“Monster Mansion Blast won us over with its addictive puzzles and candy graphics. However, the partnership with Playgram Games was a decision based on how well our own player base reacted to their game during our test rounds. Now we want to see how the game appeals to the rest of the world after its global launch,” says Daniel Rantala, the co-founder and CEO of Round Zero. “Our publishing model is data-driven which means players get what players want. There’s something for everyone and we want to be the ones to offer it,” he adds.
Flexibility and fast reflexes are required to ensure that communication runs efficiently between Round Zero and the developing team. Different teams have different backgrounds yet the goal remains the same; everybody wants to proudly present their game to the world. The CEO of Playgram Games has favored a hands-on approach to the partnership with Round Zero since day one.
“I never take any project half-heartedly,” explains Salvador Ruiz, the CEO and founder of Playgram Games, the developer of Monster Mansion Blast, “so initially I wondered whether someone outside our team could understand how much passion we’ve poured into our game. Fortunately, Round Zero turned out to be the perfect match for us. After a few game test rounds, they knew just what we needed in order to take our game to the next level.“
Monster Mansion Blast can be downloaded to mobile devices from the Google Play Store and the Apple App Store for free. Next, the game’s developers promise to release fiendishly fun new playable content to their players just in time for Halloween.
