CLEANING INDUSTRY TRADE FAIR WILL COME BACK TO TAMPERE
The international cleaning industry trade fair, Finnclean, was held in Tampere from 30 September until 2 October. A total of 8319 people visited the event. The most significant cleaning industry trade fair in the Nordic region had 147 companies displaying the latest innovations and solutions in the cleaning, care, restaurant and property industries. The winner of the Cleaning Industry Professional 2014 competition was Heli Riihiaho. The competition for new products and services recognized some of the new innovations. The international Cleaning in Tomorrow's World Conference was also held in connection with the trade fair from 29 to 30 September. In addition, the Finnish Association of Cleaning Technology (SSTL) and Tampere Trade Fairs Ltd signed an agreement to continue their collaboration. The next Finnclean Trade Fair will be held at the Tampere Exhibition and Sports Centre in 2017.
The main theme of the trade fair was Tomorrow's challenges and solutions. The daily themes were tendering, “Hoiva & Oiva” (hygiene in food and care industries), clean and healthy properties as well as young cleaning industry professionals and recruitment. The seminars, training and information sessions and the international congress offered the professionals a great deal of information to support their work. The other topical issues included the outlook and reforms within the industry, the growing need for competent people and innovations.
“The atmosphere at the Finnclean Trade Fair was good and cheerful. Based on the feedback we received, people were very happy with the event. The VIP Day on Tuesday, in particular, received a lot of good feedback from the exhibitors. The most important decision-makers within the industry were present so many significant meetings took place at the trade fair. The themes selected for the days were also successful. On Thursday there were a lot of young cleaning industry professionals exploring the event,” says Project Manager Mikael Wänskä of Tampere Trade Fairs Ltd.
Kajaani introduced a top professional – Heli Riihiaho was named Cleaning Industry Professional 2014
The Cleaning Industry Professional 2014 final took place on Thursday. The winner was Heli Riihiaho from Kajaanin Mamselli. The other finalists were Diana Boikova, ISS Palvelut Oy, Oulu, Janne Freiberg, SOL Palvelut Oy, Helsinki and Auli Jääskö, ISS Palvelut Oy, Kempele. The competition was organized by the Finnish Association of Cleaning Technology (SSTL), the Trade Union for the Public and Welfare Sectors JHL, the Real Estate Employers, Service Union United PAM and Service Sector Employers PALTA.
New products and services were rewarded at Finnclean
The competition for new products and services recognized the favorites of the public and the jury. The visitors had a chance to vote for their favorite products and services in advance and at the trade fair. The product that received the most votes from the public was the Duo Glass and Surface Mop (Vileda Professional), thus winning the Tools category. The public selected the BR 35/12 C scrubber drier (Kärcher Oy) as the winner of the Machines category. The winner of the Services and innovations category was the Smart washroom (Lindström Oy and Posterfy Oy), while the favorite in the Substances category was the LotusPro ozone water (OZOClean Oy).
The jury agreed with the public in that the winner of the Substances category was the LotusPro ozone water. It was praised for being an ecological substance that contains no fragrances or additives and is not harmful to the surfaces it is used on nor does it leave residue on them. The jury’s choice as the winner of the Tools category was the SpillEx floor cloth (Vileda Professional) which was described as being very absorbent and easy to take with you and use in case of a spill. The jury’s favorite in the Machines category was Orbot (OrboTech) which is suitable for various surfaces, user-friendly, stable and safe. The winner of the Services and innovations category was the user-friendly ATOPflow software (ATOP-TIETO Oy) which is available in Finnish. The members of the jury were SSTL's chairman of the board Erja Suikkanen and other members of the board Anne Turunen and Antti Pietilä.
The Finnclean Trade Fair was organized by Tampere Trade Fairs Ltd on behalf of the Finnish Association of Cleaning Technology (SSTL). During the trade fair, they signed an agreement to continue their collaboration and to hold the next Finnclean Trade Fair in Tampere in the autumn of 2017.
