Discover the core elements of the circular economy, systems thinking and sustainable design with United Nations Champion of the Earth LEYLA ACAROGLU, an inspiring educator and TED Talker. As a part of Walki’s sustainability program Leyla Acaroglu has run dynamic and exciting circular classroom co-creation events with teachers, students and other influencers in order to create a series of creative content for Finnish upper secondary schools on the circular economy. The outcome of the workshop will be a part of a set of educational materials to be launched in autumn 2018.

Walki’s origins date back to 1930. The company Paperituote was founded in Valkeakoski by the Finnish industrialist Rudolf Walden. In 1965, the first extrusion coating line was started in the Valkeakoski plant. Walki’s international expansion took off in 1979, when a new plant was established in Steinfurt, Germany. Today the company has 10 production plants in Finland, Germany, the Netherlands, Poland, the UK, Russia and China. With more than 85 years of product development experience, the company continues to invest in state-of-the-art production technology. Walki’s core expertise is in coating and laminating paper and board.
