The packaging company Jospak with its new CEO will move to larger premises in Forssa during this spring. The new facilities accelerate the achievement of the growth target set in the strategy. Juha Hellgren, appointed to the Board of Directors, brings to the company important expertise in the packaging industry for both the Finnish and international markets.
Jospak and Forssan Yrityskehitys, a business development driver for the Forssa region, have entered into a lease agreement for new premises. Founded in 2014, Jospak operated in the current facilities for five years. In addition to increasing production volumes, the new facilities provide an opportunity to invest in the well-being of the staff. This year, the company will employ several new experts, both clerical employees and production operators. Also, the company's own employees have grown into expert roles and the organisation will be strongly developed in the coming years.
An exhibition space for sales and marketing will also be built in the new premises, so it will be easy to introduce the Jospak tray solution to customers and plan the customers' packaging solutions – either remotely or on-site. 90% of Jospak's sales are currently exported. Over the next two years, the target market will be Finland and Northern Europe in particular.
- The EU 2030 circular economy objectives will bring significant new demands on food packaging materials, for which preparations must begin now. We are responding to this as, with the new facilities, we are able to produce ecological packaging on a larger scale. Jospak works strongly as part of a global solution, sums up the new CEO Janne Sokajärvi.
Jari Stenberg, the Chairman of the Board of Directors of Jospak, is very pleased with the new reinforcement to the Board of Directors.
- Juha Hellgren provides important additional reinforcement to Jospak’s Board. His experience in the international packaging market as well as his extensive network provide great support for Jospak's strategic plan for the coming years, says Stenberg.
- I'm really excited to be joining the Jospak team. Innovative invention, a dedicated team and environmental awareness open up huge possibilities to commercialise Jospak’s products. Now is the time to grow and go international. The desire and need for better packaging and environmental protection is at the heart of everything, says Hellgren.
The new premises are located at a great logistical hub, near the centre of Forssa. The location also offers good commuting routes for the Jospak staff.
- Jospak's business idea and product range support the strategy of the smart green city of Forssa as well as the themes of the circular economy and sustainable development. It has been great to follow Jospak's growth here in Forssa. Fortunately, we were able to offer them larger premises as operations grew, rejoices Riikka Riihimäki, CEO of Forssan Yrityskehitys.
Thanks to a packaging innovation developed by Jospak, a cardboard tray used in the food industry can only be covered with a thin plastic film. The Jospak tray® reduces the need for plastic by 85% compared to similar rigid plastic packaging and is suitable for existing packaging lines in the food industry.
