Contractor of the Year 2015 K.Hartwall Oy Ab and Subcontractor of the Year 2015 Comptel Oy
The Finnish Association of Purchasing and Logistics (LOGY ry) presented the Contractor of the Year 2015 Award to Sipoo-based K.Hartwall Oy Ab. The Subcontractor of the Year Award was given to Comptel Oyj of Helsinki. The awards were accepted by K.Hartwall Oy Ab’s Managing Director Vesa Tempakka and Head of Delivery Operations Christer Bauer as well as Comptel Oyj’s Senior Vice President of Human Resources Niina Pesonen. The awards were presented by LOGY’s Managing Director Markku Henttinen and the chairman of the award committee, Tasowheel Oy’s Managing Director Kari Sorjonen. The awards have been given since 1987 and the aim is to promote networking as a form of supporting the competitiveness of the Finnish manufacturing industry.
When selecting the Contractor of the Year, the award committee valued K.Hartwall Oy Ab’s long-term development of production and subcontracting relationships, which have enabled the company to establish a strong position in its area of competition. The company is known as a demanding and determined contractor who, together with its Finnish suppliers, develops products and purchasing processes. Established in 1932, the Finnish family business is a supplier of returnable load carriers and logistics solutions. In 2014, the group’s net sales totalled EUR 55 million and it had 144 employees of which 128 were in Finland. Approximately 95% of the net sales come from outside of Finland.
The selection of the Subcontractor of the Year was influenced by the increased importance of information technology and the related service solutions within Finland’s industrial structure. Comptel Oyj has been very successful in pursuing the leading position as a supplier of customer interaction automation solutions in the telecommunications market. Comptel Oyj is a Finnish software company listed on the Helsinki Stock Exchange and it provides business support software solutions for telecom operators and equipment manufacturers.
