THE 23. AIR GUITAR WORLD CHAMPIONSHIPS

The Air Guitar World Championships is competed on August 24th in Oulu, Finland. On the stage climb up national winners from the official network countries, the “Dark Horses” from previous day’s qualification and last year’s winner Matt “Airistotle” Burns from USA.

Dark Horses’ Qualifications, held on August 23rd, has been very popular and the entry sold out quickly. The jury chooses the best air guitarists from all over the world to attend the next day’s World Final at Rotuaari square, city center. 

In the official international Air Guitar World Championships network continue Japan, Canada, Germany and USA. This year the network has expanded to Australia, Denmark and Great Britain, where the national championships was held at Download Festival, one of the biggest festivals in Europe. 

Accreditation is also opened. Media representatives are asked to visit the event’s website and fill in the form by August 10th.

Just before the World Final there will be held a symposium for Climate Change and World Peace – this first year only in Finnish but in the coming years also in English. The organizers aim to make it an internationally known arena for discussion on the important topics.
