You are warmly welcome to attend a press day for Onoma’s 29th summer exhibition, Arts & Crafts and Rabbit Holes, on 19 May 2023, from 10:00 to 16:30
Arts & Crafts and Rabbit Holes, the 29th summer exhibition by Onoma, the Cooperative of Artists, Designers and Artisans in Fiskars, will feature bold and open-minded art from 48 artists for the audience to see and experience.
The theme of the exhibition revolves around distortions of reality, as familiar everyday things are presented in a new and interesting way to exhibition visitors.
“The exhibition features a large number of artists, and it promises to be very experiential, multisensory, and multidisciplinary. The works in the White Hall share a strong sense of spatiality, with exhibits including, for example, media and sound art, installations, paintings, and prints. In the Black Hall, the emphasis is on sculptures that enter into dialogue with the architecture of the space and with each other. The work of art located in the glass room breaks the interface between exterior and interior spaces, while the pieces of performance art and the works located in the outdoor area introduce new levels to experiencing the theme. The exhibition design emphasises the spatial juxtaposition of the two exhibition halls, which also changes people’s experience of the space”, says the curator of the exhibition, Kirsi Pitkänen.
The summer exhibition will be open throughout the summer season, from 21 May to 10 September 2023, every day from 11:00 to 18:00.
