How do people feel about working life today? Should something be done to make things better?
The Central Organisation of Finnish Trade Unions (SAK), the Finnish Confederation of Professionals (STTK) and the Confederation of Unions for Professional and Managerial Staff in Finland (Akava) have launched a campaign to support organised labour and to encourage people to discuss work and the people who do it.
The campaign highlights the role that trade unions will play in working life in the 2020s and seeks to spark discussion on the significance of the efforts of the trade union movement. It also serves union member recruitment.
The themes of the campaign are based on the joint objectives of the unions: SAK, STTK and Akava are united by objectives such as equality, wellbeing at work, reasonable working hours and methods, and balancing working and private life.
One of the most important messages is that in a trade union, each and every person can participate in making decisions on the development of working life and what it’s like to be at work.
The first wave of marketing was launched on social media on Thursday, 11 December. TV advertising will begin on 26 December, followed by radio ads at the turn of the year.
From December to February, the campaign will be active on social media: Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, Youtube. The unions will also run the campaign on radio, TV and the streets of Finland’s largest cities.
The campaign site is at Mikäfiilis.fi.
