Technopolis will open a new UMA coworking space in downtown Oslo in December 2018. The UMA Workspace -branded facility will be built into a leased 3,000 square meter space with 42 private offices, over 100 open area workstations and four shared meeting rooms. The space will be named UMA Oslo City. In Norway, Technopolis already has operations in Fornebu just outside Oslo city center.
“The entire real estate sector is undergoing disruptive change and the increasing popularity of coworking spaces is evidence of that. Companies today need agility to cope with poor visibility, but to attract talented employees they need superb locations and office environments. UMA is our response,” says Keith Silverang, CEO of Technopolis.
Technopolis is building up a network of UMA coworking spaces in the biggest cities of the Nordic and Baltic Sea region, with the aim of opening 20 UMAs by the end of 2020. UMA Oslo City will be Technopolis’ fifth stand-alone coworking space. There will be one opening in the Copenhagen city center in September 2018 and a new Helsinki UMA will open in the Kalasatama district in December 2018.
“Our UMA expansion is picking up speed now and we intend to move forward aggressively, knowing that the players with scale and great concepts will be the winners in what will be a very competitive game. I’m sure Oslo, which is one of the most important Nordic cities, will become a significant coworking hub,” Silverang says.
Location, Location, Location
UMA is designed to meet the rising demand for flexibility, efficiency and service by offering premium shared workspaces in central locations with all the needed services ranging from state-of-the-art digital solutions and modern conference rooms to specialty coffee and networking events. Customers will get access to all of these spaces and services with a single membership.
“We are very excited to launch UMA Oslo City. The location in the very center of Oslo is simply fantastic: the Central Station, Oslo City shopping mall, great restaurants and cultural venues are all nearby. The rapidly developing Storgata area is very trendy and up-and-coming,” says Technopolis’ Service Director Niko Pulli.
“There is a lot of demand for professional, high-quality workspaces also in Oslo. We offer a modern work environment that has been designed with a Nordic mentality: an inspiring, fresh and functional activity based office where people can really focus on their work and at the same time have a community around them,” Pulli continues.
