The Engineering Works Trade Fair 2016 for machine industry and the international Nordic Welding Expo 2016 were organised in Tampere Exhibition and Sports Centre, jointly attracting 8,338 visitors over three days. The key topics of the combined events were the latest innovations, automation, robotics and digitalisation. Over 260 exhibitors participated, representing over 700 international brands. The Welding Society of Finland and Tampere Trade Fairs Ltd signed an agreement for the continuation of their cooperation concerning the Nordic Welding Expo. The Engineering Works Trade Fair and Nordic Welding Expo will be organised simultaneously in Tampere Exhibition and Sports Centre again in spring 2018.

“These events succeeded beyond expectation. This was the first time that the Engineering Works Trade Fair was organised, and it showcased the largest range of machines and equipment in Finland in ten years. The number of visitors, the positive feedback received from the industry operators, and the interest shown for participation in this event in the future, all confirm that Tampere is Finland’s best location for organising events for the metal industry. This is a good starting point for the further development of the event. Contemporary machine shops are equipped with the latest technology, which means there is demand in the industry for well-organised trade fairs that exhibit the latest machines and equipment, and provide networking opportunities,” says Project Manager Mikael Wänskä of Tampere Trade Fairs Ltd.

“We are extremely pleased with our cooperation with Tampere Trade Fairs Ltd. Organising the Nordic Welding Expo simultaneously with the new Engineering Works Trade Fair was thought to be a good idea by all. These events have obvious synergy, and the key topics in both industries are the same, including technological development, efficiency of production, machine investments, and issues related to safety and environment. It is essential that both exhibitors and trade fair visitors benefit from the events being organised simultaneously and having a comprehensive offering,” says Jouko Lassila, Executive Director of the Welding Society of Finland.

The Nordic Welding Expo is organised by Tampere Trade Fairs Ltd on assignment from the Welding Society of Finland. Both parties signed an agreement for organising the Nordic Welding Expo in Tampere in spring 2018. The Engineering Works Trade Fair is organised solely by Tampere Trade Fairs Ltd.
