CPC Finland has come to agreement with Nordic OX2 to take over the rights for the wind farm in Dagsmark, Kristiinankaupunki. The project was originally initiated in 2012 and the plan has been to build 55–67 wind turbines. At this point the environmental impact study of the project has been completed, and the municipal zoning plan has reached the draft phase. The project area is also part of Ostrobothnia’s Regional Spatial Plan for wind energy.
“The wind power project in Dagsmark perfectly suits CPC Finland’s regional strategy in South Ostrobothnia. We have developed and built wind farms in the area since 2011”, says Erik Trast, the Managing Director of CPC Finland Oy.
CPC Finland wants now to refine and improve the project plan so that turbines are only built in areas where they have minimal impact to the surrounding nature and landscape.
“The wind power plant in Dagsmark is favorable to us also in terms of grid connection. We are currently building a 25-kilometer-long 110 kV overhead electrical powerline from Lappfjärd and Lakiakangas 3 wind farms through the Dagsmark wind farm area to Fingrid’s substation in Kristiinankaupunki. The plan is to use the same electrical line to connect the wind farm into the national grid, which makes the grid connection extremely cost efficient and environmentally friendly”, Trast states.
