On 28 April 2016, Kela launched a redesigned and updated online resource for students at www.kela.fi with information in Finnish, Swedish and English. The idea was to make the site more useful to customers.
"We listened to customer feedback when updating the site. We removed some redundancies in the text and made both the text and the structure of the site clearer”, says Johanna Pääkkönen of Kela.
“This is the second set of web pages at www.kela.fi to be built around a new framework, following the pages for families with children, which were updated late in 2015.”
Quick guide to financial aid for students
There is a redesigned look and new content on the entry pages for students at kela.fi/opiskelijat, fpa.fi/studerande and kela.fi/students. The site now includes a quick guide to financial aid benefits for students. The quick guide features a timeline that shows the key points on financial aid that students should keep in mind when starting their education, while in school, and after graduation.
The update brought changes to the navigation bar and to the addresses of some of the pages. The most popular pages can still be reached under their old addresses, but some now have a new address.
Customers are invited to provide feedback on the pages for example via the financial aid pages on Facebook.
