As of 1 June 2016, Finnish Customs will close down Hakkila customer service point in Vantaa and reduce customer service to one day a week at the customs offices of Hanko, Pori, Tornio (Etelätulli and Hallituskatu) and Turku. Most of Customs’ services are electronic, and most of the customers use them. The remaining needs for over-the-counter customer service can be attended to through other service alternatives. In the Helsinki region, the customer service at Airport Customs and at Vuosaari Customs will serve customers as needed.
Information on changes in customer service at customs offices and on service alternatives will be available on the Customs website in Finnish, Swedish, English and Russian. The Customs Information Service will also advise both private and business customers as needed.
From the beginning of March 2016, Customs reduced the customer service of the customs offices of Jyväskylä, Kokkola, Lahti, Oulu, Rauma, Tampere and Vaasa to one day a week. The reduced service hours have not caused any problems and the customer service alternatives have been workable solutions. The above-mentioned customs offices will continue to offer customer service one day a week.
For all employees working in customer service in Hakkila as well as in Hanko, Pori, Tornio (Etelätulli and Hallituskatu) and Turku, alternative work within their own commuting area or new career possibilities at Customs have been found.
