Finnish ownership of Fennovoima has been strengthened by the announcement on Wednesday August 5 of new financial commitments from three Finnish corporations. SRV and Fortum represent new shareholders, whereas the existing shareholder, Outokumpu Oyj, is increasing its stake in Fennovoima.
The financial commitment of the three corporations equates to the corresponding ownership in Fennovoima:
Taking into account the latest financial commitments, domestic ownership of Fennovoima now stands at 65.1% and meets the ownership conditions set by the Finnish Government and the Finnish Parliament. The companies become shareholders of the main owner of Fennovoima, Voimaosakeyhtiö SF.
Elina Engman, CEO of Voimaosakeyhtiö SF, states: ”We extend a warm welcome to the new shareholders of Fennovoima. They are now part of a major undertaking that incorporates a billion-euro investment in Finland.”
Fennovoima has completed and submitted an update regarding the ownership to Finland’s Ministry of the Employment and the Economy. The appendix delivered is part of the Construction Licence Application, which was submitted on June 30, 2015.
